Schematic Layout

Designing and laying out a schematic for our Motor Encoder requires a few steps.

First, we must determine what components we want to use in our design.

After we have selected which chips and components we are going to utilize in our system, we must first either find their library components online or make them ourselves. Creating both the library symbol and footprint in one step can save you time from having to go back and update each symbol in the schematic when you’re ready to lay out the PCB board.

Afterwards, we can begin laying out the schematic in an organized fashion to keep things aesthetically pleasing, followed by transferring those components to the PCB board.

Simplified list:

  1. Component Selection
  2. Find or Create Library Components
  3. Layout Schematic
  4. Transfer Schematic to PCB
